Bridal Appointment Information
We like to give every new bride our time and dedication to finding them their dream dress, so we ask that you book an appointment, especially Saturdays. We do welcome brides to come and browse but ask you to be patient if all our staff members are busy with other brides. Please let us know if you are unable to make an appointment, especially Saturdays. Our appointments are an hour long so please be aware if you are late this may mean you miss valuable dressing up time. Its best to remain open minded when trying on dresses, try on something you wouldn’t think that suits you, this can often change your mind on what style to go for.
WHO CAN I BRING?
Trying on dresses is an exciting experience and we welcome you to bring any family and friends you choose to share this with. For little ones we have a basket full of games and toys to keep them entertained and there is a changing mat available.
The question of ‘undies’ often comes up. When being helped into dresses, it might spare any blushes if you remember not to wear that skimpy thong with a cheeky slogan like ‘hello big boy’ for your appointment. We suggest nude tones, bra straps can often be tucked in when trying on strapless dresses.

We do offer some extra services to brides who would like the optional extras. See if any of the below are of interest to you.
All dresses and accessories which have been bought with us can be stored with us at no additional charge right up until the day before the wedding if you wish. Your purchases will be secured and fully insured. We just ask that you give us a weeks notice before you collect to give us time to check and steam your dress thoroughly and that all items be paid for in full before they leave the premises.
Dressing on the day
Quite often friends and family are overwhelmed by corset dresses or complicated fastenings and dread helping you into your gown on your big day. Don’t panic we offer a service whereby a member of staff will come to you to help you into your dress and bridesmaids or suits if necessary. There is charge for this service of £20 plus 50p per mile from the shop to travel to.
Whether you are planning to keep your dress or sell it after your big day you will need to get it cleaned asap. We recommend a company called the Plymouth Wedding Dress Cleaning Company who have completive prices and offer free delivery and collection from Launceston to Ivy Bridge.
We offer all our brides to be the opportunity to spread the cost of the most important dress that they will ever wear!
We do not carry out a credit check…all you have to do is leave plenty of time to find your dress, the earlier you find The One the more you can spread the cost! We recommend to have your 50% deposit paid no later than 8 months in advance of your wedding date, this gives us enough time to measure you and get the dress ordered, at this point you can then choose to continue with regular payments until your gorgeous dress arrives or pay the final balance once the dress arrives…the choice is yours 😀

We no longer provide an inhouse alterations service. Instead we can give you names and numbers of seamstresses who are willing to meet you at home or come into store to undertake any alterations to your gown you may require. The reason we have this new system is that you don’t have to stick to our opening hours and you can shop around for the best price and service. Ask a member of staff for details of seamstresses local to you.
